Why we built a quiz instead of another PDF

Why we built a quiz instead of another PDF

Your downloads folder has a graveyard in it. The Ultimate Guide to Instagram. The 2024 Content Calendar Template. That forty-page ebook about funnels you saved from a webinar, filed in a folder called "marketing stuff" and never opened since.

Ours too, for what it is worth.

Every one of those downloads was a small act of hope. This will be the one that sorts it. And every one of them quietly became homework instead.

The problem with one more guide

Lead magnets have a dirty secret: they hand you work. A guide says, here are forty pages, the answer is in here somewhere, off you go. For someone already running the shop, doing the actual work and answering the messages, that is not a gift. It is another job with your name on it, and it joins the queue behind every other job, which is why it is still sitting unread in the folder.

The fatigue people feel about "free resources" is real and it is rational. Nobody has stopped wanting help. They have stopped wanting to find the help inside the help.

The question under all the other questions

The founders we build for ask us all sorts on the surface. Should I be on TikTok? Does my website still matter? Why did that post die? Underneath, it is nearly always the same question wearing different coats: what is quietly costing me customers?

Not "teach me marketing". Not "build me a strategy". Just: look at what I am doing and tell me where it leaks.

That is not a guide-shaped question. That is a mirror-shaped question. So we stopped drafting the PDF and built a mirror.

Thirty seconds, on purpose

The quiz asks a handful of questions about how your marketing actually runs today. Where your bio link points and when it was last touched. How posts happen, and what happens to them when you get busy. What a new customer finds when they go looking. Thirty seconds, start to finish.

The length is not a gimmick. It was the design constraint we started from. A half-hour audit joins the homework pile with everything else, however good it is. This had to fit in the gap between two other jobs, because the gap between two other jobs is the only slot a founder reliably has.

At the end you get a straight answer. Not a score to feel bad about. Not a "you're behind", because you are not behind, you are busy. One clear picture of where attention is leaking out of your business, and the first thing worth fixing.

What it will not do

It will not tell you who you are. It looks at the marketing, not the marketer. It will not sign you up to a fourteen-day email course you never asked for. It points, plainly, at the leak.

What you do next is entirely yours. Fix the one thing yourself this afternoon, or let Inkie quietly take that piece of admin off your hands for good. Either way, you leave with an answer instead of an assignment.

Go and get your answer

The quiz lives in our bio. Make a cup of tea first if you like. You will be done before it has cooled, and you will know something specific about your own business that you only suspected this morning.

That beats forty pages in a folder called "marketing stuff". It is not even close.
